Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and UtilStax ("we", "us") governing your use of utilstax.comand every tool and service available on it (the "Service").

By using the Service - with or without an account - you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital consent age in your country) to use the Service.

UtilStax provides online utilities for working with PDFs, images, video, audio, and other files. Most tools run entirely in your browser: your files are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to our servers. Where an operation does require server-side processing, we say so on the tool page and files are automatically deleted within one hour.

We work hard to keep the Service fast and available, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may add, change, or retire tools and features at any time.

You can use the core tools without an account. Some features (such as Pro plans and higher limits) require one. When you create an account - by email and password or through Google sign-in - you agree to:

• Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
• Keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
• Notify us promptly at utilstax@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

One person per account. You may not sell, transfer, or share your account.

Free plan

The free plan gives you access to the tools with generous usage limits. We may adjust these limits over time.

Pro subscriptions

• Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual cycle and renew automatically until you cancel.
• Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
• You can cancel anytime from your account. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, and you won't be charged again.
• Prices may change; we'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a change affects your renewal. Promotional prices (such as early-supporter pricing) keep their advertised terms.

Refunds

Any payment can be refunded within 30 days of the charge, no questions asked. Except where required by law, other charges are non-refundable.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for anything unlawful, or process files you don't have the right to use.
• Attempt to probe, disrupt, or overload the Service, or bypass usage limits, authentication, or billing.
• Resell, scrape, or provide automated bulk access to the Service without our written permission.
• Upload malware or content that infringes intellectual property, or use the tools to deceive (e.g., forging signed or certified documents).

We may suspend or terminate access that violates these rules.

You own your files. We claim no rights over the content you process with UtilStax. Because most processing happens in your browser, your files usually never reach us at all.

For the rare server-side operations, you grant us a limited, temporary license to store and process the file solely to perform the operation you requested. Files are deleted automatically within one hour. We never use your files to train AI models. See the Privacy Policy for details.

You are responsible for keeping copies of your files - the Service is not a storage or backup product.

The Service - including its software, design, name, and logo - is owned by UtilStax and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service as intended. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service except as permitted by law.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied - including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

File conversions and edits are best-effort: always verify the output before relying on it for anything important (legal filings, submissions with deadlines, and so on).

To the maximum extent permitted by law, UtilStax will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $50. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

You can stop using the Service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. If we terminate a paid plan without cause, we'll refund the unused portion of your subscription.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (your files, IP, disclaimers, liability) survive it.

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. For material changes we'll give notice - by email if you have an account, or with a notice on the site - at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
