Frequently asked questions

Can I merge videos with different formats or resolutions?

Yes. Each clip is first normalized to a common resolution, frame rate, and codec, then the pieces are joined without a second re-encode. MP4, MOV, WebM, and MKV clips of any size can be mixed in one merge.

Are my videos uploaded to a server?

No. The clips are processed by a video engine running inside your browser, so the files never leave your device. That also means speed depends on your computer - merging several long clips can take a few minutes.

What happens to clips that have no sound?

Silent clips get a silent audio track during normalization so the final video stays in sync. The other clips keep their original audio, and everything plays back seamlessly across the joins in any player.
