Frequently asked questions

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. The image is opened and edited entirely in your browser with the canvas API, and the redacted copy is generated on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, which makes the tool safe for IDs, faces, license plates, documents, and screenshots with personal data.

Is blurring reversible? Which mode should I use?

A light blur over large text can sometimes be partially reconstructed, so for sensitive text choose pixelate with a large block size. Heavy blur and coarse pixelation destroy the underlying detail in the exported copy: the pixels are replaced with averages that cannot be computed back.

Can I hide more than one area in a photo?

Yes. Drag on the image to draw as many rectangles as you need: faces, plates, addresses, and signatures in one pass. Each region appears in a list with its own delete button, and Clear all removes everything so you can start over before exporting.
