Frequently asked questions
Does watermarking change my original photo?
No. The tool draws your watermark onto a copy of the image in your browser and gives you that copy to download. The original file on your device stays untouched, so you can always come back and export another version with different text, position, or opacity settings.
Should I use a text or a logo watermark?
Text is fastest for a quick copyright line or draft stamp, and you can match its size and color to the photo. A logo watermark looks more professional for branding, especially a transparent PNG. Tiling either one across the image makes unauthorized cropping much harder.
Can someone remove the watermark later?
The watermark is baked into the image pixels, not stored as a separate layer, so it cannot simply be switched off. Determined editors can try to paint over it, which is why tiled placement at moderate opacity over busy areas of the photo is the hardest to clean up.
