Crop Image for Instagram Post
1:1 ratio, 1080×1080 - crop is ratio-locked for you, free and entirely in your browser.
Instagram's classic feed format is a 1:1 square, displayed at 1080×1080 pixels. Cropping to an exact square before you post keeps the framing under your control instead of letting the app auto-crop heads and horizons. This tool locks the selection to 1:1, so every crop you drag stays perfectly square.

Frequently asked questions
Does Instagram still require square posts?
No - the feed also accepts 4:5 portrait and 1.91:1 landscape - but 1:1 remains the safest choice because it displays consistently on the profile grid, in feed, and in previews.
What resolution should the final square be?
Aim for 1080×1080. Instagram downscales anything larger and upscales (blurrily) anything much smaller, so cropping from a photo at least 1080px on its short side gives the sharpest result.
